I hope you have enjoyed looking at some of my artwork. I am self taught and paint for the pure enjoyment of it - the creative process provides an opportunity for self expression and most importantly, a complete break away from what I do in my work.

I was born in Toowoomba, Australia and spent my growing up years on the East Coast of Australia. At the age of 21 I ran away to London, which has been home ever since.

I am a Chartered Occupational Psychologist; professionally I work with people focusing on building confidence, tapping into their potential, and hopefully playing some small part in making the world of work a better place. After all, most of us spend most of our time in our working environment, so I believe this is essential....

As an artist I am completely self taught. I began drawing at the age of eight under the guidance of a wonderful teacher but didn't pursue this through my teens. I started to paint in my early twenties, inspired by the gothic fantasy of Venice and the Carnivale. I completed a series of hand painted Venetian masks that combined the glamour and mystery of the Carnivale with my interest in gothic subculture and imagery.

From there, I progressed to canvas. I currently work mainly with acrylics which I manipulate with traditional tools as well as palette knives, sponges, and anything else that looks like it may work! I love the adventure of experimenting with different tools to find out just what effects they can create.

My paintings range from the subtle to the vibrant. The result is usually an emotional representation, and sometimes a reflection of the elements of nature. Having grown up by the sea, and now living in an inner city environment, I find myself drawn to seascapes and sunsets.  Texture has become increasingly important in my paintings and I have recently completed a series of monochrome paintings inspired by storms.  Many of seascapes are painted from photographs taken whilst travelling, mainly in Australia, Egypt and Thailand.

All paintings are on deep edged canvas and do not require framing. They are finished with varnish to protect them.

If you like any of my paintings please get in touch.
