Home is London where I have lived for the past 18 years. I grew up in Australia.
I have been painting regularly for the last 8 years. I started out drawing with charcoal - mostly faces - and progressed to painting venetian masks with acrylics. My fascination was with creating mysterious and beautiful images that at times were haunting in their expression on the blank canvass provided by the mask. I eventually exhausted my supply of masks - unfortunately - and decided to try my hand at painting on canvass. I simply applied my love of vibrant colour and started to explore the use of different textures and painting techniques to end up with the collection that I display here.
In addition to what you see on this website I also have some other canvasses that may be of interest and I am more than happy to consider commissions.
Most of my paintings simply take on a life of their own - I am not sure how much control i have over the creative process! Sometimes I start with a photograph or a mental image and work from that. Othertimes I throw some paint onto the canvass and see what happens. Some of my favourite pieces - The Abyss, Fire and Dancing flames, were born this way. Oceans was inspired by a photograph I took on Australia's Sunshine Coast.
If you are interested in any of my paintings do get in touch. Postage is not included in the price but depending on where you are is likely to be in the region of £20-£40.
